A lot of us do not practice their freedom of speech especially during elections especially in democratic countries. It is a bit ironic linking it to the word democracy because of the fact that democracy means freedom. And freedom means you can do and exercise what you want to express and say to what is happening around you. It is not proper to just shut your mouth even if you are seeing that what’s happening around you is not right. You have to exercise your right to freedom of speech.
You have to imagine that if you continuously do not act, the whole country will be in trouble. This usually happens during terrorist attacks and elections. A lot of people have been a victim of terrorism and vote-buying. But see, there are also lots of people who are witness to the scenario. But they just opted to just keep quiet and be silent.
How can you help your country if you do not act and help your people? As long as it is for the benefit and advantage of your country, you have to tell and voice out what you saw and what you really feel inside. That is a practice of a true citizen of a certain democratic country.
You have to bear in mind that it is your own right and nobody can take that away from you. Unless you let other people take it from you, you are not exercising your right. You also have to remember that your freedom is your country’s liberty.
You should be an instrument of change, and through change, you will meet success in all endeavors in your life. You have to remember that change should be made in order to prosper, not only as a person but as a citizen of your own country.
Your country needs you and if you will not be very vocal about what’s happening around you, nothing will promote change. And no one will serve as an instrument for change. We all need change and freedom of speech is really a powerful right on your belt to execute in order to meet success. Again, do not hesitate to voice out what is inside you for your freedom will set your country free from any troubles like terrorisms and vote-buying.
Remember, if you close your eyes, nothing will come out on your mouth. Practice freedom of speech.
