Freedom of Speech

freedomofspeech 15 212x300 What Does Religious Freedom Of Speech Mean To You?In the early 1600s, there were sects of religious institution leaving the country of England to come to the United States trying to escape from religious persecution. These groups of people were said to be a firm believers in Christianity and once they come in the English territories had their religious liberties. Nobody wants to be persecuted because of their religion or their beliefs.

Why did the founding individuals state in the initial amendment, “Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment and institution of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise, thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech or even the freedom of the press; or the liberty of the individuals peaceably to assemble, and to petition the state or the government for a redress of grievances and corruption.”

Our forefathers were about five to six generations away from our ancestors who fled England in the search of religious liberty. How did our ancestors know what it’s going to happen in the future if religion was permitted to make impact on the country’s laws, schools, churches and other small agencies in a particular country?

Thomas Jefferson was considered to be one of the primary voices to shout for freedom of speech and a powerful influence for the liberty of religion. Did this single man have the powers to see the devastation that could be executed if this country was governed by a sole religion? Our schools would then be governed by Christian way of life and thinking and this will result the future of the country towards limited chances. Basically, freedom gives us the chance to expand on our beliefs and alter them at will, whether right or wrong.

Powerful religious guidelines and doctrine must be strictly follower and will not supplement us any room in thinking other then the religion of Christianity. An excellent example of a close minded government system is the communism. The Russians failed to make any essential changes and lost their status as the most powerful country in the world because they were just thinking with limits. This could supplement us with an example of what could be our government would take us if the initial amendment of freedom of religion was not tackled in the early years.

A lot of individuals take it for granted, that our opinions should be heard, join any kind of religious institution that we select and informed ourselves with books coming from the local libraries, school with no fee, government awards in order to advertise higher level of education and to live in a particular country that wants to embrace change, if the society will have an advantage of it.
